Looks really good.
Did you finish the top with oil as well?

Tim,
That's so nice to read! I definitely aimed for a "responsive" sound. I'm pleased with the mid range but I wonder if the sustain is a little short on the trebles and if the bass is a little "tight"[?], or maybe "throttled" (the clip is too short really but I didn't want to pollute people's ears for too long with my playing!) But generally, I agree with your summary, I don't think I could've hoped for much better. Here's to progress! Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to it.

Colin,
Thanks, very kind of you to say! My dad likes "restraint" in design, so I aimed for a simple and elegant, traditional design. Once I've fnished my current build, I start my brother's and that will be a whole other kettle of fish! Using some absolutely gorgeous, stunning, almost unbelievable Ziricote from Aaron Hix!

Nick,
Thanks for the complement, I am really pleased! I didn't see your [very impressive!] challenge entry 'till the other day but we must've been building these 00s at roughly the same time! Snap! :)

Joe,
Thanks! And I did use the liberon finishing oil for the top... I'm very pleased with it but have just learned that it may have been prudent to give it a coat of shellac beforehand. Make sure to test both methods on an offcut if you plan on doing it!

(While the top is debatable, I think the liberon finishing oil is the ideal finish for khaya in particular. Really does something [an almost glowing "refraction" effect for want of better terminology] for it that a pore filled lacquer finish doesn't, at least in my limited [microscopic? :)] experience. Most evident in the pic I've re-attached below but it doesn't really do the khaya justice...)

Thanks again and all the best to all!
Nick
